"Sophia's First Smile"
Our daughter's first smile came one evening when mommy kissed her.
Technical details: both shots were taken with on-camera bounce flash using my hand as a flag. Ambient was underexposed 1 stop, then flash was added (TTL, 0 FEC). For postprocessing, I created a new canvas and pasted each image as a separate layer. The top layer was the kiss photo - I just deleted the background. The second layer was the smile photo. I first resized the smile photo to make it larger (I didn't want both images to have the same size). To create a fade effect, I applied a layer mask and used a gradient to fade the image from left to right. I then lightened the opacity.
Equipment used: Nikon D300 + Sigma 50-150 2.8 + Nikon SB-800.
