Inspiration from other photographers: Matthew Priestley

Recently, I found the Flickr photostream of Matthew Priestley, and I've since become a big fan of his fashion photography. Everything about his photos is perfect - model, hair and makeup, clothing, styling, posing, composition, postprocessing, etc. etc. What I find most amazing is that his newer photos use only one or sometimes two lights (old hot shoe flashes at that -- not studio strobes) and the lighting looks spectacular. I am truly in awe at his exceptional skill in working with relatively simple tools to produce astounding photos. Of course family photos can't look like that (unless your family consists of professional models :) ) but I try to learn what I can from his lighting.
