    1. At least have a go at the sensor size, focal length and aperture used.

  2. Her skin tone looks very similar with something a Canon would give you... Yet, you don't shoot Canon. Or do you?

    1. Nope, not a Canon, not anymore, but that is high praise indeed.

  3. Given you have abandoned SLR and you already have a compact RX100 and m43 OM-D, my guess is something different say X100s?

  4. This has backfired, ok, I lied, it is a camera I already have, but I lied about it because I didn't want to give it away easily, I wanted to see what others thought about the sensor size and the aperture.

    It is taken with the RX100 @ f/4.9 and ~ 70mm.

    1. You're right, I wrote a new camera to prevent comments choosing between the two cameras I already have.

If you see the full 20MP picture, you will be quite impressed for the performance of such a small camera and sensor.

    1. Hi mayor, more ISO (even if cleaner than what your 600D produces) would not improve bad light conditions, sometimes high ISO would help in low light conditions to get a certain mood or a feeling of the available light, but that's not always the case.

You already have a good camera, and my advice would be to get a cheap fast lens like the Canon 50mm f/1.8 or the Canon 35mm f/2 (check my reviews on this blog), it will help you get much more light than the kit lens (I'm assuming that's the only lens you have), and it will give you shallower depth of field as well.

Next step is to learn about lighting and you might add a TTL flash later (Canon 430EX, Yongnuo 565 etc...), you can use it to bounce light, or use it off camera wireless.

When you get the most out of your system and you're certain that you're not satisfied with faster lenses and more lighting, we'd talk again. :-)

Full frame has a certain distinctive look especially with fast lenses, but the cost jump would be significant.
