Comment on Jon Super's photo of this year's Nobel Prize winners

I saw this photo of this year's Nobel Prize winners: http://news.yahoo.com/nphotos/Nobel-Prize-Physics/ss/events/sc/100510nobelphysics

The photo was taken by Jon Super (www.jonsuper.com) for AP. I like the lighting, tonality, and shallow depth of field. I guessed that lighting was all ambient (with overcast skies), and it was taken with a 70-200 2.8. Anyway, I contacted Jon and he confirmed my guess (except that it was taken with a 1.3x crop 1D Mk3 not a 5D as I supposed).

You can recognize the camera used just watching the picture?
Or yo just refer to the focal distance?

BTW I dit try to recognize the pictures taken with Nikon…not working for me

  2. Hey Robert. Actually I just guessed it was full-frame. As for the Canon vs Nikon "look" I can't tell for sure except if the shot is unedited, with default settings, which is almost impossible. :)
