I would be very interested in the followup post promised here to compare the 85/1.8 and the Sigma... I have been thinking of getting the 85 sometime, but am not sure how it would compare in real shooting to the Sigma. AF speed is a definite concern, as is image quality between f/2.8 and f/5.6 (where I spend most of my time... in fact most of my shots are f/4 - f/5.6). It would be handy to have f/1.8 when needed, though.

ThanksAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361251099864607419.post-84303432388994564852012-11-13T20:02:27.226-08:002012-11-13T20:02:27.226-08:00No offense taken! No offense meant, please don't take it the wrong way, but the 1.8G's bokeh is disgusting. I guess I just got spoiled with the 85 1.4G.. Thanks for the review!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361251099864607419.post-48026555964724492612012-11-12T17:37:36.124-08:002012-11-12T17:37:36.124-08:00Thanks fotoklicks!

Yes that's my fault! :) Recently I've tried to keep the contrast in my shots to more reasonable levels but on these shots I felt the shots looked 'cinematic' so the temptation to really boost the contrast was too strong for me to resist. :) I'll post SOOC versions when I get home so readers can get a more accurate assessment of the contrast of this lens.

Thanks again.

Best regards,
Mic360 Rumorshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01173469932778454315noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2361251099864607419.post-31735091849414128092012-10-29T09:54:40.106-07:002012-10-29T09:54:40.106-07:00Your daughter is adorable! The photo of her sitting on the log is my favorite from the many great ones you posted.

As for the lens, I like the look overall, but the contrast is a bit hard occasionally. Perhaps that is from excess post processing?

Cheers.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
